British Chancellor refuses Transfer of Iraqi assets

The Guardian Weekly reports that the Chancellor, Gordon Brown, has refused US demands that he should turn over £200 millions in Iraqi assets frozen in Britain since the last Gulf war to an American-controlled account. Britain wants the UN to take charge of the money.
