New Year Thoughts for 2004

Peace for the world

The whole world thirsts for peace, especially Burundi. Peace is the foundation for development and public welfare. Therefore it is of fundamental importance. Burundi has been in the grip of a fratricidal war for 10 years and longs for peace. The current negotiations provide all Burundians with a small ray of hope. Our souls are so eternally war-weary. But also throughout the rest of the world people hunger for freedom, not only people who directly suffer from war, but also those who suffer from other problems in their lives.

It is our wish that during the Festive Season of the birth of our Lord and in the New Year a new and peaceful era for the entire world will dawn, and that all people will help construct the new peace that will bring about a better world.
