EU Project: Schools Commit Sexual Abuse

Rather than resuming their neglected educational duties

Anything goes, because it’s progressive and cosmopolitan: that was the mantra of the 90ies with free public drug use being promoted and the Dutch coffee shops hailed as centres of salvation, until Switzerland woke up to a sobering reality at the Zürich Platzspitz and Letten Train Station. The costs of police, legal and social efforts as well as medical treatment for physical withdrawal, psychiatric and rehabilitation procedures – often as long as 5 to 10 years – have never been summed up and never will be, probably. Then the school reform took the wake of this large-scale social manipulation scheme: again with Zürich in the pole position. Citizens were told that Ernst Buschor, successor of educational director Gilgen, was in fact a business man. His role as a link man to the Bertelsmann Foundation was unveiled only much later.

A couple of things should have been noted from the beginning, though: Those illogical reforms, focussed as they were on anything but the pupils, proceeded from the Landesinstitut für Schule und Weiterbildung (Institute of education and post-graduate training) in Northrhine-Westfalia in Soest, in 1988 under the title “Rahmenkonzept ‘Gestaltung des Schullebens und Öffnung von Schule’” (Conceptual framework: development of school life and opening of the school).

The functionaries astounded  everybody with the aggressiveness of their political language, which should have made people wonder where they got their tailwind from. Indeed, Northrhine-Westfalia was soon followed by Hamburg and Berlin as implementation areas. After a couple of years the Bertelsmann Foundation took the lead. Educational levels were systematically downgraded and as many pupils as possible were cramped into huge comprehensive schools. Again something that was “palmed off” on us Swiss as progressive.

As it looks today, we will have to establish school museums in all cantons soon to remind people of a time before 1990, when we had generations of highly motivated trainees for the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich or the medical courses. In those days high-school graduates were not afraid to fail in the first propaedeutic exams due to lack of mathematics, physics or chemistry and be “screened out” straightaway. It also needs to be remembered that our Swiss educational materials used to encourage logical thinking from the first grades on. The same probably applied to Germany, as well.

In the “Wallstreet Journal” of 5th Dezember 2005, Milton Friedman demanded: “The states objective would be better served by a competitive educational system than by a government monopoly. […] As in other industries, such a competitive free market would lead to improvements in quality and reductions of cost.” What we really got instead of “improvements in quality” has been a continuously declining educational level in Germany and Switzerland over the last 10 years, rather than “reductions of cost” we face huge bills for special schooling and therapies. Still the colleges who are in charge of higher education keep tightening the reform screw regardless of collateral damage. It would be more honest to halt the march and admit that the suggestions of the “Chicago Boys” have proven to be the wrong track, the wrong goal. All educational institutions have to be held accountable and reminded of their legal obligations towards education.  

However, instead of that the Swiss  Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) is bold enough to interfere with cantonal education policies and use federal money of 1’343’000 francs to establish a special department at the Pädagogische Hochschule Zentral­schweiz (Teacher Training College Central Switzerland) which is supposed to pave the way for a more than dubious sexual education programme down to kindergarten entry age, i.e. 4 years, in Switzerland.  

First incursions in that direction date back to the early 90ies, that was when leaflets issued by the Zurich education directorate surfaced out of the rather confusion sphere of youth and education politics, under the title: “Schwule zum Anfassen” (touchable gays), meant to encourage experiences of “coming out” to homosexuality in school classes – without the teacher or any other school representative being present. In the Gilgen era people were still inclined to blame this on personal problems in the education directorate. Meanwhile, a larger context seems to appear.

Because, since European countries have been subject to “Social Engineering” made by the EU and US “soft power” departments, these same incursions have gained quite a different impact: although only a satellite power, the EU will not shy away from dictating their reforms of personal and intimate spheres to individuals and families – i.e. all citizens – rather than dealing with the real problems of those countries. Perhaps bankruptcy could reach the current extent, because a certain Osterwalder in Dübendorf and one Dutroux in Belgium were considered more “important”?

In order to disillusion fathers and mothers and all citizens – in Switzerland, too – concerning the content of those “sex boxes”, we asked the journal “Compact” to let us reprint their article “School Subject Gay”.•
